There is a user- and developer community that continues to communicate and publish about their work with the GREAT-ER model. Since this is an open source model, additional developments by third parties are encouraged, provided that this work is in turn made publically available. GREAT-ER has also been referred to in REACH (the new EU Chemical Legislation, 2007) Technical Guidance Documents as a potential tool for use in higher tier exposure- and risk assessments.
