The GREAT-ER product mode

The GREAT-ER product mode (Anno 2001) is an extension of the GREAT-ER 1.0 model. Its purpose is to calculate aquatic concentration increases of all ingredients of a product system depending on a chosen use habit. The objective of the GREAT-ER product mode is therefore not environmental risk assessment of single substances, but the comparative assessment of product systems serving the same need, as defined by the use habit.
The GREAT-ER product mode is one result of the PhD research project of Carsten Schulze, carried out in the Institute of Environmental Systems Research at the University of Osnabrück. More information, including the PhD and the software, can be found at the website http://www.usf.uni-osnabrueck.de/~cschulze/diss. The PhD was financed by the Henkel KGaA.
NB: The GREAT-ER Product Mode is a newly developed research tool that does not necessarily represent the points of view of the GREAT-ER 1.0 sponsors and partners.
